    LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe One BOCES - 41 O'Connor Road, Fairport, NY 14450; Various Locations

     

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-Month, Full-Time, 7:00am - 3:00pm

     

    STARTING DATE: June 2025

     

    STARTING RATE: $16.82 per hour

     

    *Actual salary is dependent on education, experience and contract.

    DUTIES:The Maintenance Mechanic III position reports to the Foreman and is responsible to:

    1. Prepare and paint interior and exterior walls, doors, frames, and ceilings.

    2. Use carpentry skills to install stud walls and drywall.

    3. Operate boom and scissor lifts.

    4. Assist Maintenance Mechanic I and II employees with maintenance, repairs, renovations and construction of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.

    5. Assist with custodial activities such as cleaning, housekeeping, floor and carpet care, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal and moving furniture.

    6. Complete snow removal as needed.

    7. Complete other assigned tasks as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Civil Service eligibility as a Maintenance Mechanic III.

    a. Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus six (6) months of paid full time or its part time equivalent work experience in one (1) or more of the electrical, mechanical or construction trades; OR

    b. Graduation from a technical high school or trade school with a major in electrical, mechanical or construction as a substitute for the previously described work experience.

     

    Note: Additional experience may be substituted for the high school diploma on a year-for-year basis.

     

    2. Knows and follows safety standards.

    3. Strict attention to detail.

    4. Ability to use computer programs to manage and obtain work orders.

    5. Good verbal and written communication skills.

    6. Good attendance.

    7. Self-directed worker.

    8. Displays a positive attitude.

    9. Valid NYS Driver's License.

    10. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation) including, but not limited to:

    a. Lifting not less than 50 pounds, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling 80 pounds.

    b. Standing, stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, climbing a ladder and/or reaching.

    c. Transporting tools, equipment and supplies to job site.
