Position Summary
The Procurement Manager handles a variety of projects and engages across the business with key stakeholders while overseeing strategic sourcing, purchasing and inventory of materials, products, and services to support business operations. The role requires fiscal discipline, strategic planning, vendor relationship management, contract negotiation and administration, compliance with company policies and regulations and drive for continuous improvement activities in collaboration with various stakeholders to achieve business and procurement objectives.
Essential Position Functions
+ Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, ensure that procurement policy and guidelines support the needs of the organization.
+ Lead team of procurement and inventory professionals in development and delivery of strategic sourcing and inventory management strategies that align with team goals, business objectives, and comply with company and regulatory policies.
+ Collaborate with departments and clinics in management of supplier relationships, including performance evaluation, contract negotiations, and issue resolution.
+ Monitor supplier performance through periodic assessments and implement improvement plans as needed.
+ Analyze procurement data and market trends to identify opportunities and make actionable decisions for cost savings and process improvements.
+ Manage cost aggressively to ensure adherence to project-specific budgets and forecasts.
+ Develop should-cost models for competitive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Service Level Agreement (SLA), and other terms of partnership analysis.
+ Serve on the Materials Committee to assist with the review and approval of new supply materials, product changes and standardization opportunities.
+ Manage the lists of formulary items and catalogues for the areas under management.
+ Oversee the administration of all procurement activities, including but not limited to RFI/RFP/RFQ, bid, purchase order, requisition, or invoicing, backorder, discontinued, open POs, vendor item maintenance, inventory item maintenance, price lists, and invoicing processes, acting as supplier interface as needed.
+ Evaluate procurement department performance and results, and assist with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies as necessary.
+ Present and obtain approval on value propositions, including those related to contract awards, cost reviews, cost reduction strategies and critical supply issues.
+ Negotiate contracts, terms and pricing to secure cost-effective and value-driven agreements with assigned suppliers to improve cost, quality, delivery, and safety in the supply base.
+ Participate in the physical inventory process management across all company locations.
+ Actively participate in related software vendor selection, demo, implementation, including but not limited to contract review, negotiation, configuration, testing, roll-out, training, and on-going maintenance.
+ Manage stakeholder groups through technology adoption.
+ Manage and influence all phases of project management and change management.
+ Support budget planning by forecasting supply costs and identifying potential financial impacts of procurement changes.
+ Assist with risk analysis to identify issues (financial, operational, and/or regulatory) and develop risk mitigation strategies, and communicate potential risks and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
+ Lead and direct the work of other procurement employees with full authority for personnel decisions, and support their training, development and performance management.
+ Ensure processes and procedures are fully documented and followed.
+ Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, within the team aligned with company’s core values of innovation, compassion, health, and integrity.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree, or greater, in business administration, supply chain, accounting, or related areas and a minimum of eight years in procurement or supply chain management, with at least five years in management role OR equivalent combination of education and experience which will provide the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Healthcare or dental supply chain experience is preferred but not required.
Licenses, Certificates & Registrations
+ Certification in procurement or supply chain, such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or procurement and supply qualifications provided by Level 2 through Level 6 diplomas issued by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or ability to obtain a relevant certification within first year of employment.
+ Preferred Lead Six-Sigma certification.
+ Preferred Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP) issued by American for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) or related certification.
Expected annual salary range for this position depending on experience:
$110,000—$127,000 USD
Compensation
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
This position is also eligible for incentive pay in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.

Paid Time Off (PTO): Eligible employees will accrue a minimum of 120 PTO hours per employment year in addition to seven paid holidays annually. The Company’s PTO program combines vacation and sick leave, which is more generous than Washington State’s Sick Leave Law.
Physical Requirements
The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing, but will require occasional walking, bending, stooping and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies. The incumbent uses a computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks.
