    Blaster/Helper

     

    Mission: The Blaster/Helper is responsible for setting up and operating a blast booth or similar equipment. This includes shoveling or pouring Aluminum Oxide Grit or other abrasive materials into the machine, monitoring and maintaining an adequate supply of abrasive in the hopper, and adhering to safety standards. The Blaster/Helper will also assist with various general duties around the shop, such as shipping and receiving, making deliveries and pickups, cleaning equipment, shop cleaning, light facility maintenance, and supporting welding, machinist, and mechanic operations.

     

    Pay Rate: $20 per hour

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment.

    + Load and unload the blast equipment.

    + Maintain a clean and orderly work area and report any unsafe working conditions immediately.

    + Always wear proper safety equipment and comply with company safety rules.

    + Maintain proper levels of spare parts.

    + Perform minor adjustments, daily preventative maintenance, or setups to equipment.

    + Produce consistent and quality finishes according to specifications.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Position Requirements:

    + Previous blasting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

    + Ability to read and interpret manufacturer and engineer instructions.

    + Working knowledge of manual and power hand tools.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Strong attention to detail.

    + Strong mechanical aptitude.

    + Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    Education and Experience:

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + A combination of education and experience will also be considered.

    Schedule:

    + 4 days on, 2 days off.

    + Day Shift: 7am - 7pm for 2 months.

    + Night Shift: 7pm - 7am for 2 months (rotating).

    Benefits:

    + Overtime: After 8 hours.

    + Overtime: Saturdays.

    + Double Time: Sundays.
