About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Institutional Brokerage Sales Assistant.
The team you will join is responsible for cross-asset institutional fixed income sales which includes investment grade credit, structured products (MBS, ABS, CMBS, CLO etc.), munis, agency debt, treasuries and other fixed income products with a list of assigned buy-side institutional accounts. As a sales assistant and junior member of the team, you will be tasked with all aspects of supporting the sales team, sales and settlement process and customer service. The desired candidate will have an interest in fixed income markets, including credit, structured, municipal and rates markets, strong multitasking skills and will have a passion for the fast-paced atmosphere and culture of a trading floor.
In this role, you will:
+ Provide assistance to Institutional Sales Representatives in support of sales activities primarily for Financial Institutions
+ Perform a variety of tasks for moderately complex to complex transactions or processes that require in-depth knowledge of institutional fixed income brokerage products and services
+ Monitorand track referrals and sales results
+ Execute solicited/unsolicited investment orders in as necessary.
+ Provide customer service by solving operational issues and ensuring trade settlement
+ Support the commitment to customers' satisfaction through fast and courteous service via telephone and written correspondence
+ Process customer service and internal requests for account maintenance
+ Provide back-up for sales reps and other desks
+ Provide training or work direction to junior level staff
+ Proactively identify and mitigate risk
+ Working under minimal supervision
Required Qualifications, US:
+ 2+ years of Cross-Asset Sales support experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
+ Previous experience with Fixed income or other structured products (MBS, ABS, CMBS, CLO etc.), municipals, agency debt, treasuries and other investment grade fixed income products
+ Prior selling experience in other Capital Markets products also considered
+ Meticulous attention regarding all details, adaptive to a fast-paced environment and able to perform under pressure with high motivation and energy
+ Current knowledge of and/or FINRA licenses extremely helpful (particularly FINRA Series 7)
+ Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field or equivalent experience
Job Expectations:
+ Ability to work overtime as needed
+ Registration for FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
+ Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
+ Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
