    Position Summary/Description:

    This position is a postdoctoral research opportunity in the Earth, Marine, and Environmental Sciences Department at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. It is based in the Gardner Lab and focuses on hydrology, geomorphology, and carbon dynamics across the floodplain-large river-estuary continuum. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to a project examining sediment and/or carbon fluxes and processing from river to estuary using satellite remote sensing and data analysis. The specific research focus is flexible, offering the opportunity to develop and pursue new ideas within the broader scope of the project.

    Education and Experience:

    Ability to develop impactful research questions and analysis independently and in collaboration. Experience with optical satellite imagery and/or machine learning. Interest in student mentorship and contributing to lab group projects.
