Generac Clean Energy, due to growth, is hiring a Staff Portfolio Product Manager (Sustainability Product Manager IV)) that will engage in the ongoing product support of current and new solar and storage products and software for the clean energy revolution.
This position is responsible for carrying out key activities to ensure that the products we develop, and launch are aligned with market needs and continued customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong business acumen, demonstrated background in defining, launching and supporting complex products, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment. This position will report to the Vice President Product Management and will work as part of a cross-functional team to deliver best-in-class product solutions for our customers and partners.
Role could be located in Billerica MA, Reno NV or Waukesha WI.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Driving creation & alignment of category specific product roadmaps including defining Unique Selling Propositions, timing of new products, and existing product improvements.
+ Developing and maintaining product cost models to help prioritize initiatives and drive cost roadmaps for existing and future products
+ Monitoring market requirements to identify trends, support definition of product requirements, determine specifications and recognize partnership opportunities
+ Maintaining and publishing competitive analysis documentation and tracking key product trends in the market
+ Supporting product operations of existing on-market products
+ Serving as knowledge expert in product categories, relative product capability, and technical specifications and features
+ Collaborating with sales & support teams to create and refine sales and technical support tools to ensure ongoing support through the life of our products
+ Gathering feedback from customers and installers to facilitate closed loop learning in our product development efforts
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or other technical discipline or equivalent work experience
+ 8+ years of progressive work experience in engineering, project engineering, project management, product management, or related new product development field
+ 5+ years of progressive business leadership with history of complex program/product delivery
+ Ability to travel up to 20%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Experience in solar or storage product development or related field
+ Understanding of energy economics, utility rate structures, and distributed generation interconnection policies
+ MBA is a plus
+ Experience with cost modeling, PLM Software and data visualization tools, excel
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
+ Strong market analysis capability and business operations acumen with a demonstrated ability in a Product Management capacity
+ Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; proven ability to influence and work with all levels of an organization
+ Solid technical foundation, ability to learn and adapt quickly, and demonstrated ability to frame and drive business decisions
+ Experience supporting customers in an external facing role
+ Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a “can do” attitude
