At Amazon Books, we believe reading is essential for a healthy society; our mission is to inspire readers by making it easy to read more and get more out of reading. We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Sr. Product Marketing Manager to lead our marketing efforts across multiple marketplaces in North America and Asia. Working in partnership with the Books global marketing teams, you will help develop and execute the marketing strategy for Books, and own the growth of reading subscriptions, in some of our fastest growing marketplaces. This role will involve regular communication with senior leadership, both through regular review mechanisms and on standalone projects.
A successful candidate in this role will be able to exercise the analytical and creative sides of marketing, can operate independently even in ambiguous situations, and works well with a diverse set of stakeholders. The role requires excellent written and oral communication skills, as the candidate should be able to negotiate and influence priorities with multiple partners and stakeholders, and independently handle communications with senior management teams. This role is suited for candidates with prior experience in marketing roles, preferably with online or digital businesses. Experience in analyzing large datasets in Excel, and the ability to quickly build expertise in in-house tools will be necessary.
Key job responsibilities
• Be a passionate advocate for customer experience, maintain thorough and intuitive user experience across the store and other customer touch points
• Contribute to growth of the reading subscriptions customer base through marketing initiatives, spanning owned and operated channels and influencing external channels including paid media, affiliates and social
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to acquire, engage and retain customers
• Partner with global product teams (Store, Subscriptions…) to launch new experiences in the marketplace, and provide strategic marketing inputs into product roadmaps
• Represent the Books category with partner teams and in central marketplace forums, and advocate for the category's priorities
• Leverage metrics, analytics and dashboards to measure effectiveness of marketing initiatives, and contribute to improving the initiatives and their reporting
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)
- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
- Experience leading go-to-market for consumer software or hardware product launches
- Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using any of SQL or other analytical tools for conducting data analysis
- Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, and targeting
- Master's degree in marketing, communications, business, or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
