    Summary:

    The Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole is currently accepting applications for a Technical Records Specialist 1. The successful candidate will perform various office duties and must be detailed oriented and exhibit professional communication skills when interacting with various internal and external customers via telephone, e-mail, and other written correspondence.

    Responsibilities:

    + Monitor and process incoming phone calls, email, and written correspondence.

    + Maintain file materials in compliance with established filing procedures & retention policies.

    + Respond to general inquiries and route other inquiries accordingly.

    + Utilize correct judgment and discretion as to the methods, policies, and procedures used to complete assignments.

    + Determine acceptability or conformance to eligibility requirements according to rules, regulations, statutes, and program policies and procedures.

    + Explain parole processes and procedures to members of the public.

    + Prepare parole contracts.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors. Typically gained from at least one year of work experience (or more) monitoring records systems, identifying problems and correcting errors.

    + Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems. Typically gained by at least one year of work experience gathering information from a variety of resources; collecting and compiling requested information; and having good knowledge of services, operations, or programs.

    + Experience interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments. Typically gained through at least one year of work experience with responsibility for reviewing documents or actions for compliance with laws, regulations, and/or policies OR through explaining to others how laws, regulations or policies apply to specific situations.

    + Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. Typically gained by at least 6 months of experience in a work setting where the individual was required to enter and retrieve data in a database records system or other computer records system.
