    The Customer Service Application Security team seeks a talented Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build innovative Generative AI security solutions that automate our security processes. In this role, you'll architect and develop native AWS solutions using technologies like LLMs, prompt engineering, and security frameworks that improve security posture and increase builder productivity.

    Key job responsibilities

    1. Architect and develop innovative security automation tools that leverage generative AI technologies to streamline security processes, enabling efficient and scalable security operations.

    2. Collaborate closely with application security engineers and software development teams to understand their needs, provide guidance on secure coding practices, and advocate for security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

    3. Conduct code reviews, identify potential vulnerabilities, and propose mitigation strategies to enhance the overall security posture.

    4. Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, techniques, and industry best practices in the rapidly evolving field of generative AI security, and evangelize their adoption within the organization.

    5. Participate in the design and implementation of secure software development lifecycle processes and tooling.

    As a successful SDE, you collaborate with security engineers to understand their automation challenges and requirements. You design and develop AI-powered solutions that streamline security processes across the organization. Your role involves conducting code reviews to identify vulnerabilities, researching innovative approaches to application security automation, and presenting progress to internal customers and stakeholders. Throughout your day, you build bridges between security and development teams while creating tools that enhance the organization's security posture.

    The Customer Service Application Security team is pioneering AI-powered security solutions for an internal Amazon business units. We're reimagining how security integrates with development by creating intelligent automation that protects customers while accelerating delivery.

     

    Our team bridges the traditional gap between security and engineering through innovative approaches—building generative AI tools that automate complex security processes and dramatically reduce friction for developers. We also help our customers address security early in the software development lifecycle by providing guardrails and paved paths.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

     

    - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

     

    - Experience programming with at least one software programming language

     

    - 1+ year experience building solutions that leverage Generative AI.

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

     

    - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
