Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an **Principal Facility Engineer** to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in **Sunnyvale, CA.**
In this role you will lead the execution and management of facilities projects that support both sustaining infrastructure and new project facilitation requirements.
This position supports and is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing electrical and mechanical systems within our facilities infrastructure. Ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with regulations. This role involves overseeing the installation, maintenance and repair of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, lighting, medium to low voltage power distribution, and other critical infrastructure, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support facility operations.
Responsibilities include:
+ Responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, repairs, and planning of the facilities mechanical infrastructure to ensure maximum safety and building uptime
+ Identify and implement preventative and predictive maintenance plans of the facilities infrastructure, equipment and buildings to achieve lowest cost of ownership while maintaining reliability
+ Develop strategic replacement plans for outdated equipment to address excessive maintenance, energy efficiency and establish consistency of equipment utilized across the site
+ Perform problem solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
+ Prepare training documents and operational SOPs pertaining to facility and processes and equipment
+ Partner with Facility Maintenance groups to develop process improvements to gain efficiencies in terms of equipment uptime and reliability
+ Develop, gather, and analyze data and develop reports, presentations, and recommendations for facilities system improvement
+ Conduct engineering assessments, develop plans, and provide guidance on the selection and implementation of equipment and systems for facility and utility improvements
+ Interact and manage facility projects to ensure proper operations and maintenance of mechanical, fire life safety, exhaust, and applicable controls systems
+ Evaluate existing and new technologies to reduce operating costs and improve reliability
+ Prepare Scopes of Work (SOWs) and supporting documents for procurement of design and construction services
+ Generate cost estimates for projects, equipment replacement, and/or other systems improvements
+ Coordinate with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings
+ Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards
+ Review designs and challenge assumptions
+ Identify and conceptually scope compliance, capacity, redundancy, and cost savings projects
+ Provide Dynamic Collaboration - Engage as a technical expert with a diverse set of teams from manufacturing to construction to operations to executive level stakeholders
Basic qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of related facilities experience; or a Master's degree and 3 years of related facility experience; or 9 years of facility related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
+ Experience supporting a large Manufacturing Facility
+ Demonstrated ability and experience to Interpret building and utility drawings and make the revisions as required
+ Experience developing and updating Preventive and Predictive maintenance initiatives
+ Experience in Project Management & General Construction processes
+ Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD & Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
+ Must be a US citizen
Preferred qualifications:
+ 7 years of experience in facility engineering with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
+ Experience with management of design contracts and/or design reviews
+ Experience in developing project statements of work and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
+ Demonstrated knowledge of California Code and Regulatory requirements
+ Experience using a CMMS, i.e., Maintenance Connection
+ Experience using BIM Software - Revit
Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
