    PLANT MANAGER - Well-Respected Industry Leader in Covington, GA

     

    We are seeking an experienced and strategic Plant Manager to lead a large manufacturing facility specializing in advanced materials processing. This critical leadership role oversees all aspects of plant operations, including quality assurance, maintenance, logistics, information technology, engineering, and environment, health, and safety (EHS). The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure compliance with industry standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Oversee daily manufacturing operations to meet or exceed production targets and customer expectations. Develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

    + Maintain and improve quality control procedures, collaborating with quality teams to promptly address and resolve issues.

    + Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and coordinate with maintenance teams to keep machinery in optimal condition.

    + Manage inventory levels, coordinate supply chain activities, and oversee shipping and receiving operations to meet delivery commitments.

    + Utilize ERP systems to monitor operations, trigger corrective actions, and ensure IT systems support efficient plant operations and data analysis.

    + Lead continuous improvement initiatives, working with engineering teams to implement process improvements and new technologies.

    + Promote a strong safety culture, engage team members in risk identification and mitigation, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

    + Manage and develop plant staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

    + 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.

    + Strong leadership and team management skills.

    + Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

    + Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
