Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee and manage all aspects of financial operations for our organization. This role requires expertise in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis. Based in Monterey, California, this is a Contract position offering an opportunity to grow within the company.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, customer invoices, and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage payroll operations, including wage calculations, tax deductions, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and depreciation to support accurate financial reporting.
• Generate financial statements and reports to assist with management decision-making and strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
• Utilize accounting software, such as QuickBooks, to manage financial data and streamline processes.
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
• Analyze financial performance, cash flow, and identify opportunities for cost efficiency. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, with a solid understanding of the full accounting cycle.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks Online.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and report generation.
• Familiarity with automated payroll systems and computerized accounting tools.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
• Understanding of tax laws, GAAP, and regulatory compliance standards.
