Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in New Canaan, Connecticut. In this role, you will focus on reconciliation tasks, managing accounts, and ensuring accurate financial records. This is a great opportunity to contribute your expertise in forensic accounting and account analysis within the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough reconciliations of approximately 2,000 accounts with precision and attention to detail.

• Analyze debit and credit balances to identify discrepancies and ensure proper alignment.

• Perform forensic accounting to trace and validate payments or resolve incorrect entries.

• Investigate issues related to customer deposits, credit card disputes, and other payment inconsistencies.

• Handle reconciliation tasks using advanced accounting software, including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

• Review general ledger entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Manage bank reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding transactions.

• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities.

• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve financial reporting accuracy.

• Maintain organized and accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.

• Proficiency with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.

• Expertise in forensic accounting and resolving payment discrepancies.

• Ability to perform bank reconciliations and ensure timely financial reporting.

• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial documentation.

• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Effective communication and collaboration abilities within a team environment.
