Description

Key Responsibilities:

+ Represent clients in business litigation matters such as contract disputes, commercial disputes, partnership litigation, and other related areas.

+ Provide legal advice and develop case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

+ Draft, review, and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.

+ Manage litigation files from inception to resolution, including trial preparations if necessary.

+ Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.

+ Negotiate settlements, mediate disputes, and advocate for clients in court or alternative dispute resolution forums.

+ Collaborate with internal teams, including paralegals and legal assistants, for case support and management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

+ Active member of the Maine State Bar, in good standing.

+ 3+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on business/commercial litigation.

+ Proven track record of managing complex litigation matters and achieving favorable outcomes.

+ Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal civil litigation procedures.

+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate legal arguments effectively.

+ Ability to work independently but collaboratively in a team environment.

+ Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with mediation, arbitration, or other forms of alternative dispute resolution is a plus.

+ Comfortable with legal technology tools, including eDiscovery platforms and case management software.
