Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Paducah, Kentucky. In this role, you will handle essential accounting tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in data entry and reconciliation, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process daily cash receipts from checks, electronic payments, and lockbox deposits, ensuring accurate entry into the accounting system.

• Maintain up-to-date customer accounts receivable records and provide invoice copies as requested.

• Investigate and resolve customer claims concerning invoice payments, chargebacks, returns, and bad checks.

• Record invoices into the accounting system and manage vendor accounts payable records.

• Reconcile monthly vendor statements with system data and match check stubs to open invoices.

• Organize and file check stubs, bank receipts, and other related paperwork for easy retrieval.

• Assist with weekly check runs under the direction of the Accounts Payable Clerk.

• Respond to inquiries from customers and vendors, providing timely and thorough support.

• Contribute to monthly financial closings and ensure accurate reporting.

• Participate in special projects and tasks as assigned to support the accounting team. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.

• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

• Strong skills in account reconciliation and invoice processing.

• Familiarity with cash applications, including deposits and collections.

• Advanced data entry abilities, both numeric and high-volume.

• Competence in using Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

• Experience with payroll, particularly manual and multi-state payroll systems.

• Solid understanding of check processing and weekly check runs.
