Description
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in accounting and experience in payroll processing? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can apply both your accounting expertise and payroll knowledge? We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team! In this hybrid role, you will play a pivotal part by handling accounting functions while managing payroll for field technicians using Insperity Payroll Software.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant with Payroll Responsibilities, you will:
Accounting Functions:
+ Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, preparing and posting journal entries for month-end close.
+ Assist in financial statement preparation, ensuring accuracy in reporting and timely submissions.
+ Reconcile bank statements, expense accounts, and intercompany transactions on a regular basis.
+ Perform account analysis to ensure the accuracy and resolution of discrepancies.
+ Assist with audits and ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.
Payroll Functions:
+ Process bi-weekly payroll for field technicians using Insperity Payroll Software, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
+ Review and validate employee timecards, schedules, and expenses to process payroll accurately.
+ Address and resolve payroll discrepancies in collaboration with the HR and Operations teams.
+ Keep detailed payroll records, ensuring compliance with auditing and reporting standards.
+ Communicate with supervisors and field technicians regarding payroll inquiries and changes.
Requirements
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 3+ years of experience as a Staff Accountant or payroll-focused accounting professional.
Skill Set:
+ Experience with Insperity Payroll Software (or similar payroll systems) is highly preferred.
+ Strong proficiency in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and accounting systems.
+ Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Solid understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and accounting principles (GAAP).
+ Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with employees, managers, and external vendors.
