Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Associate to join our team in Aliso Viejo, California. This role involves preparing various federal and state tax returns, supporting tax planning initiatives, and contributing to tax-related projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset to help ensure compliance and efficiency in all tax functions.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare federal and state income tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and nonprofit organizations.

• Develop accurate workpapers to accompany income tax returns.

• Assist in tax planning efforts and create projections to support strategic decision-making.

• Contribute to quarterly tax provision reviews and tax receivable agreement-related documentation.

• Coordinate with external accounting firms and maintain adherence to internal and external deadlines.

• Conduct in-depth tax research utilizing Checkpoint and other tools.

• Provide comprehensive support to the Tax Manager on diverse tax-related initiatives.

• Participate in special projects as assigned to meet organizational needs. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.

• At least 1 year of experience in tax-related work or a Master’s degree in Taxation.

• Familiarity with the real estate, homebuilding, or land development industries is a plus.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven ability to collaborate within a team environment.

• Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in writing detailed reports.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

• Experience with tax software such as Lacerte or similar platforms is preferred.
