Description

The Accountant is a key member of the Finance team supporting all major areas within the department, particularly in project accounting. The Accountant provides financial support and oversight for specific business projects. The role administers accounting functions related to the general ledger, and updates, maintains and reconciles the Balance Sheet and Income Statement (P& L). Looking for a candidate interested in temporary to hire.

Essential Functions

• Review projects for accurate revenue recognition and provide project analysis and recommendations based on findings.

• Ensure all project costs are processed.

• Reconcile monthly inventories, and materials analysis as directed.

• Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and annual closing of books according to the priorities set forth by the Financial Controller.

• Executing bank account and credit card reconciliations with timely follow-up and proper resolution of exception items. Ensure that all Balance Sheet accounts have lead sheets that support their balances and amortizations if applicable.

• Perform Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation and analysis.

• Explain month over month trends on operating expenses and trends versus budget.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax filings.

• Complete various ad-hoc analyses and projects that may cover financial forecasting, cash planning and margin analyses.

• Participate in meetings to discuss open and emerging business issues and makes recommendations for improvements.

• Complete other related duties and assist with special projects as needed.

• Serve as lead to other Accountants in absence of Accounting Manager.
