Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team at a [small/midsized] company dedicated to delivering exceptional service in [industry/sector]. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team and gain hands-on experience in a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Accounts Payable (AP):
+ Review, verify, and process invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy and alignment with purchase orders.
+ Assist with check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments while maintaining proper documentation.
+ Accounts Receivable (AR):
+ Generate and distribute customer invoices; post incoming payments to the appropriate accounts.
+ Follow up on outstanding customer balances through timely and professional communication.
+ Reconciliation & Reporting:
+ Assist in reconciling bank statements, credit card accounts, and vendor statements.
+ Provide support for month-end closing, including journal entry preparation.
+ Recordkeeping:
+ Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including filing of invoices, receipts, and other documentation for audits or reviews.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
+ General Support:
+ Assist the accounting team in responding to internal and external financial inquiries.
+ Support ad hoc financial projects and administrative tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
+ 1–3 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping, ideally within a small to midsized business environment.
Skills & Competencies:
+ Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or a similar platform) and Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas).
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing data entry and financial calculations.
+ Exceptional time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a busy office environment.
+ Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills for vendor and customer interactions.
