Description

Our client, a well-established and respected law firm that specializes in landlord / tenant law, is seeking attorneys with 1 to 15 years of experience in landlord-tenant law to join our growing practice. Open to newly-admitted attorneys. Must be comfortable regularly attending housing court.

Role: Associate Attorney

Schedule: On-Site with flexibility

Salary: $100K-$175K (Wide range DOE)

Responsibilities:

+ Provide legal advice to clients on landlord-tenant issues, including lease agreements, evictions, and tenant rights.

+ Go to housing court 4 to 5 times a week every morning at 9:30am in 1 of the 5 boroughs.

+ Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations (almost exclusively landlords)

+ Draft and review legal documents, including leases, eviction notices, and settlement agreements.

+ Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.

+ Assist in educating clients about their rights and responsibilities under landlord-tenant law.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Licensed to practice law in the state of New York.

• Ideally 1+ year of experience in landlord-tenant law; open to training

• Proficiency in case management and document management software.

• Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and landlord-tenant regulations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases and court appearances effectively.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
