Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller well-versed in eClinicalWorks (ECW) to join a dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical billing processes, demonstrate proficiency in ECW, and have knowledge of healthcare reimbursement concepts. This role is critical for ensuring accurate claim submission, timely payment posting, and resolution of billing issues, helping to maintain the financial health of the organization.
Core Responsibilities:
+ Insurance Claim Submission: Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies electronically using eClinicalWorks (ECW) (Source: SG25 US Healthcare.docx).
+ Payment Posting: Accurately post payments and reconcile remittance information in ECW.
+ Accounts Receivable (A/R) Management: Monitor unpaid claims, follow up on denials, and manage appeals to maximize collections.
+ Patient Billing: Prepare, review, and send out patient statements for balances owed. Resolve patient account inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
+ Charge Entry: Accurately enter and review charges and ensure proper assignment of procedure and diagnosis codes.
+ Compliance: Stay current with healthcare laws, regulations, and insurance requirements, ensuring compliance with all industry standards.
+ Reporting: Generate and analyze billing and collection reports to track financial performance and identify process improvement opportunities.
+ Collaboration: Work closely with medical coders, providers, and insurance carriers to troubleshoot and resolve billing discrepancies.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
+ Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare or medical setting, with specific experience using eClinicalWorks (Source: SG25 US Healthcare.docx).
+ Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; medical billing/coding certification preferred (e.g., Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC) (Source: SG25 US Healthcare.docx).
+ Technical Expertise: Proficient in eClinicalWorks (ECW), with additional experience in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
+ Understanding of Billing Practices: Familiarity with private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billing processes, including CPT/ICD-10 coding guidelines.
+ Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with patients, team members, and insurance representatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Knowledge of additional electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Cerner or Epic is a plus (Source: SG25 US Healthcare.docx).
+ Familiarity with medical collections is beneficial.
+ Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
