Description We are looking for a dedicated and meticulous Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Hudsonville, Michigan. This long-term contract position involves managing accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate invoicing, and fostering positive customer relationships. The ideal candidate will bring excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to collections and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Process and reconcile accounts receivable transactions to maintain accurate financial records.
• Generate and distribute invoices promptly and ensure proper documentation.
• Apply customer payments to accounts while keeping records up to date.
• Communicate with customers to negotiate payment terms and, when necessary, establish payment plans.
• Escalate unresolved collections issues to senior management for further action.
• Prepare and maintain aging reports to monitor outstanding receivables.
• Collaborate with internal teams, such as Sales and Customer Service, to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Assist in the monthly close process by reconciling customer accounts and preparing necessary reports.
• Contribute to process improvements for accounts receivable and collections workflows.
• Foster thoughtful and positive interactions with clients to address payment concerns effectively. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a related financial role.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions like pivot tables and basic formulas.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with customers effectively.
• Exceptional organizational and follow-up skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is an advantage.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a proactive approach.
