Are you a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with a passion for accuracy and a heart for making a difference? Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities

+ Processing regular payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees in a timely and accurate manner.

+ Verifying timesheets and payment records and resolving discrepancies.

+ Maintaining payroll records, reports, and workflows in compliance with state and federal regulations.

+ Collaborating with HR and Finance teams to manage benefits deductions, tax withholdings, and direct deposits.

+ Assisting in the preparation of payroll reports for budgets, fundraising, and audits.

+ Keeping abreast of nonprofit-specific labor laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

+ Proven experience in payroll processing, ideally in non-profit or similarly regulated environments.

+ Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or similar platforms).

+ Strong understanding of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax compliance.

+ Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage confidential employee inquiries.

+ Knowledge of labor laws and nonprofit compliance in multi-state environments is a plus.

+ An associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields is preferred.
