Description
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in commercial real estate accounting and financial management. The ideal candidate will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and drive efficiency across multiple portfolios. To apply for this role, please call Erica Huggins at 808.452.0256. Responsibilities:
• Lead the implementation and transition to Yardi accounting software, replacing legacy systems to enhance operational efficiency.
• Direct general ledger activities, ensuring seamless month-end and year-end closures along with timely financial reporting.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and deliver comprehensive reporting packages to stakeholders such as banks, lenders, and investors.
• Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to support strategic financial planning.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies across various jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with asset management, property management, and leasing teams to optimize financial reporting and operational processes.
• Monitor lease renewals and escalations, coordinating with property management for accuracy and efficiency.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, legal teams, and financial institutions.
• Mentor and lead a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and maintaining high standards of performance.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior financial leadership role within commercial real estate.
• Demonstrated expertise in system migrations, specifically Yardi implementation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of property accounting, lease abstraction, reconciliations, and real estate finance.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret complex leases and real estate operating agreements with precision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Prior experience in legacy or family-run business environments is advantageous.
