Description We are looking for a dedicated Attorney with expertise in insurance defense or litigation and defense to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Miami, Florida, and offers an excellent opportunity to handle diverse legal cases while contributing to a dynamic environment within the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation skills, a strategic approach to case management, and a commitment to delivering outstanding legal support.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee legal work on assigned cases, ensuring thorough preparation and effective execution.

• Represent the company in litigation matters by aggressively pursuing files referred by the Claims Department.

• Develop and maintain a clear and documented strategy for each case, including analysis of intangible factors such as the judge, opposing counsel, and case-specific nuances.

• Organize and maintain comprehensive document files, including pleadings, briefs, and memorandums.

• Conduct legal research and draft high-quality legal documents as required for case management.

• Provide timely and detailed status reports to claims handlers, ensuring updates occur no less than every 60 days.

• Prepare and deliver compelling arguments in court proceedings, as necessary.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and consistency in case handling strategies.

• Stay informed of relevant legal developments to incorporate best practices into case strategies. Requirements

• Minimum of 1-3 year of experience as a trial attorney, with a preference for insurance defense expertise.

• Active membership in the State Bar, along with compliance with all licensing and continuing education requirements.

• Proven ability to handle cases in Dade County Courts.

• Strong skills in legal research, writing, and drafting of legal documents.

• Demonstrated experience in managing and organizing complex case files.

• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
