    Job Description:

    This position will provide high-level content for communications and marketing efforts at MaineDOT. This position will obtain and analyze data to determine the efficacy of these efforts. The Marketing Specialist will also support department grant applications and other initiatives. This position will provide additional marketing and communications expertise to MaineDOT's Office of Creative Services through social media and other more traditional outreach efforts. This position will assist with writing press releases, planning events, and designing promotional materials for both print and digital distribution. This position is expected to research and develop concepts and layouts in order to produce effective and engaging reports, public presentations, publications, and web-based communications. This position will also be able to assist with photography, videography, and audiovisual event support. This position will conduct internal training to ensure a qualified staff and promote quality control.

     

    This is a collaborative position, that requires attention to detail and includes working with internal clients, developing and circulating proofs for review, and integrating comments from a diversity of stakeholders. The person in this position must have impeccable customer service skills as well as superior writing skills, and the ability to manage several projects at a time. There are often tight deadlines, and a high level of technical accuracy is required. Candidates should have expertise with Microsoft Office products, Meta Ads Manager, as well as experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.

    To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

    A six (6) year combination of education, experience, and/or training in business administration, marketing, sales, public relations, or directly related field.
