    The Addison Central School District is seeking an engaging and student-centered candidate to join our team in the role of a full-time HS School Counselor. This position is for the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate must:

    Job Qualifications

    In addition to the above qualities the successful candidate will need the following:

    A NYSED School Counselor Certificate

     

    Areas of Experience

     

    Academic Support & Planning

     

    Assist students in course selection, scheduling, and meeting graduation requirements.

     

    Monitor academic progress and provide interventions when needed.

     

    College & Career Guidance

     

    Guide students through the college application process, including essays, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.

     

    Provide information and support for vocational and career pathways.

     

    Social-Emotional Counseling

     

    Support students' emotional and mental health through individual or group counseling.

     

    Address issues such as stress, peer conflict, grief, and crisis situations.

     

    Collaboration & Consultation

     

    Work with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student development.

     

    Participate in IEP, 504, and MTSS meetings as appropriate.

     

    Crisis Intervention

     

    Provide immediate support for students in crisis and coordinate with outside services when necessary.

     

    Program Development & Implementation

     

    Support and promote school-wide initiatives that encourage a positive school climate and student well-being.

     

    Record-Keeping & Compliance

     

    Maintain accurate records of student interactions and ensure confidentiality and compliance with NYS regulations.
