Office Engineer - Land Port of Entry

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Office Engineer will provide technical, administrative and management support for building construction projects. Responsible for daily project administration & coordination of project stakeholders. Responsible for processing RFIs, submittals, monthly progress payments; generating correspondence; cost and schedule monitoring and reporting; maintaining as-built drawings and conformed documents; and resolving other project issues.
The work location for this position is on-site in Douglas, AZ
Technical/Functional Responsibilities:
* Provide direct support to the Construction Manager in the areas of project administration, change management, document control and expediting.
* Monitors the project schedule and budget
* Reviews and processes technical submittals and RFI’s
* Generates correspondence; daily, weekly, and monthly diaries/reports; quantity calculations; meeting agendas and minutes
* Generates progress pay estimate or reviews contractor payment application for accuracy; ensures audit proof documentation is compiled for each pay estimate
* Identifies, evaluates negotiates, and generates contract change orders
* Reviews certified payrolls and extra work bills for compliance with prevailing wage laws; conducting or coordinating labor compliance interviews, and documenting nonconformance
* Coordinates and schedules materials testing and surveying services
* Responsible for assisting the CM with claims mitigation and dispute resolution, including but not limited to: generating independent cost estimates and scheduling impact analysis; preparing position papers; and presenting to dispute reviewboards
* Provides document control oversight and performs document control when needed
* May perform field inspections or conduct safety reviews as needed
* Utilize collaboration tools to record, track, analyze, and report project data.
* Prepare agendas, prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
* Assist in the preparation of monthly progress/status reports including performance narratives, schedule variations, cost summaries, Changes/RFIs/Submittal status, and a summary of key action items.
* Support QA/QC staff responsible for focused inspections and reporting on work in progress.
* Maintain project record documentation.
* Five (5) years relevant work experience
* Proficiency using MS Office tools.
