Duties Description Glimmerglass State Park in the Central Region is seeking a full-time seasonal employee to perform maintenance tasks at the park facilities. Under the supervision of higher-level personnel, duties will include:• Perform building and grounds upkeep, landscaping, litter control, and janitorial activities.• Scrub and clean restrooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, and drains, using hand-operated equipment and cleaning agents. • Perform landscaping duties such as push mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching, watering, and clearing trails.• Operate small equipment including wood splitters, leaf blowers, string trimmers, push mowers, utility carts, and pressure washers.• Empty trash, recyclables, and waste, in accordance with cleaning schedule. • Monitor supplies and equipment; and notify supervisor of supply levels, equipment malfunction, and/or maintenance issues observed during work activities. • Wear appropriate protective clothing and other specialized protective equipment as required by the assignments.• Pick up or drop off items at park buildings, stores, and additional locations.• Participate in required site meetings and agency trainings. • Set up and assist with special events.• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum qualifications per Civil Service.See Additional Comments for operational needs.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS: • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.• Must be physically able to perform light to medium physical labor. • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.BENEFITS:This position has the option to join the NYS Employee’s Retirement System and may be eligible for health insurance, dental and vision coverage as well as the opportunity for paid time off in the form of vacation, sick, personal and holiday leave after time and service requirements has been met.
