Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The FM Tech Mechanical Trades performs under the direction of the Facilities Management HVAC Shop Supervisor.
Duties include:
+ Responsible for performing routine maintenance of HVAC equipment to ensure that equipment continues to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings do not deteriorate.
+ Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair.
+ Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
+ Use standard HVAC tools. This includes precision measuring instruments, electrical devices, and electronic testing devices.
+ Using knowledge and skill with Building Automation Systems ( BAS ) to complete tasks as needed.
+ Look up and order parts.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years experience. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position’s role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ Associate’s degree preferred in a mechanical trades or HVAC field.
+ Four years of professional HVAC experience.
+ Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge.
+ Ability to use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits
+ Experience in diagnosing mechanical problems and determine how to correct them using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
+ Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
+ Computer knowledge of programs such as Building Automation Systems ( BAS )
+ Ability to use standard HVAC tools. This includes precision measuring instruments, electrical devices, and electronic testing devices.
+ Ability to look up and order replacement parts using available information
+ Computer literacy required. Knowledge and skill with Google Systems, and willingness to learn new programs.
+ Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork.
+ HVAC controls for Building Automation Systems experience.
