    + Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California site was established in 1947 and acquired by Meggitt in 1999. In 2019, the facility was designated Parker Meggitt’s Machining Center of Excellence with state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment.

    + Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California manufacturing features an upgraded 110k square foot, world-class manufacturing and testing facility. The facility has been designated as a Machining Center of Excellence within the Parker Meggitt group with recent additions of state-of-the-art multi-axis milling, turning, and additive layer manufacturing equipment. We also have testing capabilities for fluid and pneumatic valves that can duplicate modern aircraft systems' high temperatures, pressures, and flow rates. With our in-house design and development capabilities and growing product portfolio, we are in a leadership position for the next generation of high-performance aircraft engines and airframes.

    + Parker Meggitt Fluid Systems Division – North Hollywood, California facility designs and manufactures valves and controls that regulate the flow of air and fluids under pressure and high temperatures. Its pneumatic and fluid control lines include fuel, mixing, starter valves, air-oil separators, and solenoid valves used in commercial and military aircraft and aero engines. Industrial offerings provide fuel and bleed-air control valves and ground fueling products for power generation and mechanical drives.

    + Parker Meggitt - North Hollywood designs, validates, and manufactures valves that reliably control high-pressure engine bleed air, hydraulic fluid, and fuel in extreme temperature, pressure, and vibration environments. The FY24 sales plan is $206M, and there are approximately 290 total team members at the site, with 127 in the UAW union.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    + Engineering Manger at Parker Aerospace, North Hollywood, CA is responsible to lead, manage, and provide technical direction to product development engineering teams including multiple sub-teams and/or significant contracted external engineering resources. Leads the technical effort, defines engineering plans, and ensures program objectives and contractual requirements or customer expectations are met, including required scope, cost and schedule constraints.

    + Reports to, or may serve as, the engineering functional manager over varying engineering disciplines. Has one or more direct reporting managers or supervisors and may have expert-level engineers on staff.

    + Has regular and frequent internal and external interaction with program management, customers, and division leadership on technical projects. May have cross-business unit or division interface on common technical issues or customers.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Leads the technical effort and defines engineering plans and expected outcomes for a major engineering team.

    + Develop plans for multiple projects and determine team and resource allocation by reviewing technical proposals, internal and subcontract capabilities, and conferring with management.

    + Manage the deployment of resources among teams and for engineers assigned to various programs (e.g. matrix to a business team). May act as a Control Account Manager (CAM) for projects applying Earned Value Management (EVM).

    + Provide leadership and direction on product development and the introduction of new technology; may lead or support collaboration on research activities. Lead the team and expert staff in interpreting technical requirements, managing associated risk, and completing technical studies and design reviews.

    + Serves as a technical liaison with program management and customer technical representatives to present status and/or refine project plans; assess and make technical determinations on changes in customer requirements (e.g. design specifications; change impact on cost/schedule).

    + Ensures teams are implementing and achieving process improvement and design standardization objectives (e.g. structured design process). Maintains consistent engineering practices, standards, and documentation procedures and reporting capabilities. Takes appropriate steps to protect and safeguard Parker intellectual property.

    + Accountable for full budget planning and non-recurring and recurring cost and schedule management that may include engineering systems and staffing for multiple facilities. Provides input to leadership on long-range plans to meet both current and anticipated growth and resource challenges (e.g. workforce planning; new technical systems investments).

    + Partners with and promotes technical collaboration opportunities for product innovation or systems solutions. Serves as a primary liaison on technical capabilities. Provides input to the technology roadmap and division business plans.

    + Make recommendations and decisions on human resources actions (e.g. staffing, training, compensation, etc.); discusses exceptional cases with the next level manager. Communicate and implement actions to ensure Parker values and company policies are well understood and maintained (e.g. business ethics; integrity; inclusion).

    + Identify and create technical training and development plans. Mentor or serve as a resource to share specialized knowledge with others. Maintain leadership and technical capabilities through continued education or training.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    + REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering or a science technical discipline; Master’s degree (MS or MBA) preferred.

    + Aerospace Manufacturing experience is highly desired

    + Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 10-12 years of related experience.

    + Has prior management/supervisory responsibility for 4 or more years including project engineering experience.

    + Broad knowledge and understanding of primary engineering domains and specialized products/systems as they are applied to varied engineering projects. Ability to apply and integrate knowledge of other related engineering areas.

    + Proficient with project management, engineering documentation, and engineering analysis tools.

    + Demonstrated ability to investigate and lead research projects. Skilled at assessing and making cost and investment trade-off decisions.

    + Ability to apply program management principles to the product development cycle and apply cost accounting principles and methods (e.g. earned value management). Experience with comprehensive program and design reviews and/or other customer requirements, industry practices, regulations, and policies.

    + Ability to effectively influence the overall team and functional objectives. Ability to delegate and empower leaders and teams. Ability to guide and develop the team through effective coaching, feedback, recognition, and skill assessment and training

    + Thorough knowledge of competitor and industry practices, government regulations, and internal policies.

    + Recognized as an influential technical resource. Has strong facilitation skills and ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences to gain support or resolve issues. Makes effective presentations on highly technical topics to top management, customers, and/or other key stakeholders.

    + Effective speaker and presenter; serves as a spokesperson or in a liaison role with universities and other research institutions and industry associations. Ability to respond to significant inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or other internal teams.

     

    WORK AUTHORIZATION:This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. U.S. Citizenship/Permanent Resident is required for most positions.

     

    Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations.

We aim to offer a base pay that aligns with the midpoint of our salary range.

     

    + Pay Range: $134,798 – Mid: $185,379 - $235,961

    + Participation in Annual Cash Incentive Program – ACIP-Target: 17.5%
