The position:

+ We are looking for an innovative and passionate software developer who is driven to continuously learning and growing. As a software engineer on the IFE Software Team, you will be joining an experienced and collaborative team, working on a broad range of software applications using a variety of software technologies.

Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

+ Collaborate as part of a development team to design and develop large scale applications

+ Develop and update new features on web tools, RESTful APIs, and data sources

+ Write and perform unit tests

+ Participate in agile software development, ceremonies, user story reviews, planning sessions etc.

+ Ensure all deliverables comply with latest industry standards & best practices for design, code quality, performance, and security

+ Conduct design and code reviews with other team members and maintain up to date documentation

+ Support software releases including monitoring and defect resolution when needed

Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

+ Advanced C programming experience in Linux environment including TCP/IP network programming.

+ PHP, Shell Scripting, Unix/Linux, MySQL, Algorithm Development, Data Manipulation, Data Aggregating/Processing.

+ Excellent SQL, MySQL or related database language skills.

+ Strong experience in Linux and/or Unix environments.

+ Strong understanding of working with data such as data manipulation, data aggregation, data processing, or related.

+ Familiarity with network security methodologies a plus. Prior experience with multimedia application development including streaming audio/video servers and clients highly desirable.

+ Ability to resolve complex problems quickly and efficiently. IFE development involves many system level issues including real time, performance and reliability requiring understanding of distributed processors in an embedded system environment. Many problems are multi-dimensional requiring non-traditional solutions to fit within the constraints of an embedded system providing highest value to the customer and end user to bring entertainment in an aircraft.

+ Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with user-centered, iterative design and development cycles.

+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and make efficient use of given resources such as system lab time and down stream process owners and tasks.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead multi-function teams to achieve positive results and perform as a technical expert and a source of information.

+ Provide leadership and/or technical guidance to other engineers.

+ Highly proficient in project planning while addressing external/internal dependencies across multiple functions.

+ Proven ability to extensively modify existing processes, procedures or methods to develop appropriate solutions.

+ Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.

+ Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.

+ Works on problems of diverse to complex scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of variable factors.

+ Demonstrable experience providing identifiable technical contributions to the success of a product or project.

+ Proven ability to develop technical approach or design, resource, allocation or time schedule on projects.

+ Ability to effectively interact with senior internal and external personnel.

+ Demonstrated engineering communication expertise including concise written and verbal skills is a must.

+ Familiarity with a variety of discipline field concepts, practices and procedures.

Qualifications

Education / Experience Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

+ With 10+ years of software development experience

+ Strong experience in C++ for airside software development

+ Proficiency with objected oriented programming/design with PHP

+ Experience with front-end web technologies: JavaScript, HTML, CSS

+ 5+ years of experience with AWS (RDS, Lambda, QuickSight, Glue ETL script in PySpark, Athena, API Gateway, S3, CloudFormation templates)

+ Experience with SQL query optimization and data modeling

+ Experience supporting infrastructure setup and troubleshooting of serverless enterprise applications

+ Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

Other Requirements:

+ Ability to travel to domestic or international locations as required, up to 10% of the time.

The salary range of **$116,000 - $194,000** is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum.

All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year plus a paid company-wide shut down in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year.
