**Location:** 4870 W 2100 S, Salt Lake City, UT
**Shift:** Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, flexible
Summary:
The Equipment Designer, R&D, provides technical support to engineers and scientists on a variety of technical tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong design and fabrication skills, as the Equipment Designer is responsible for creating detailed CAD drawings, designing and fabricating fixtures, and working closely with external vendors and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
What You Will Do:
+ Support short-, medium-, and long-term projects focused on patient safety, product quality, and compliance with Stryker’s Quality Manual and regulations.
+ Assist engineers in developing concepts, designs, and approaches for new processes, test methods, tooling, and fixtures.
+ Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings; maintain drawing revisions and R&D documentation as needed.
+ Design, procure, and assemble fixtures and equipment for manufacturing and testing, ensuring compliance with medical clean room standards.
+ Collaborate with external vendors to source high-quality materials and ensure timely delivery.
+ Utilize 3D printing technology and support the fabrication and validation of fixtures per design specs.
+ Participate in project meetings, contribute design suggestions, and apply knowledge of GD&T to improve manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
+ Provide CAD and PLM system support and apply understanding of current products to develop effective design solutions.
What You Need:
+ Two-year Technical Degree (i.e., AA, Certificate) and 2+ years’ experience OR a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
+ Previous three-dimensional (3D) Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and software-related work experience
+ Bench fixturing/tooling/assembly experience
+ Working knowledge & understanding of general Quality System requirements
