    CAREER OPPORTUNITY

    The Process Engineer is an important member of Number 1 Paper Machine. He/she is expected to assist and support both day-to-day and long-term processes in accordance with Number 1 Paper Machine with a focus on the wet end. This position requires the capability to manage projects, processes, and people.

    HOW YOU WILL IMPACT SMURFIT WESTROCK

    * Implementation of process/equipment improvement projects

    * Aids with process troubleshooting and optimization analysis.

    * Support of safety management/improvement projects

    * Implement systems to improve equipment reliability.

    * Implement systems to improve operator responsibility.

    * Solve repetitive process/equipment failures.

    * Support department training

    * Work with hourly and salary employees to improve department results.

    * Assist in maintenance shut down execution of process areas.

    * Responsible to understand and utilize all safety requirements of job functions; in addition to use all required PPE during job tasks.

    * Position requires full knowledge of safety requirements and ensure compliance and accountability.

    * Working knowledge all safety procedures (including LOTO, fall protection, confined space entry, hot work and JHA for each position, proper guarding, seat belts, dock locks, etc.).

    * Employee must follow standard work procedures and safe.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

    * Required: BS Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical Engineer preferred)

    * Strong communication and leadership skills with an ability to teach others.

    * Must present a strong team mentality.

    * Self-starter with drive to continuously improve current state of the areas of responsibility.

    * Departmental on call duty on a rotating basis

    * Must have analytical and problem-solving skills.

    * Must be reliable and dependent.

    * Willingness to work long or non-typical hours as needed.
