Position OverviewAt United Health Services, our Access Care Bed Management Coordinator are responsible for completing varied, diverse and specialized duties to support the Revenue Cycle, Compliance and Patient Experience by accurately and efficiently completing tasks in areas of Registration, Financial Screening and Verification, and patient throughput. Maintaining accurate up-to date, hospital-wide census and patient bed availability information, including all care centers, units, Labor and Delivery, Intra-Hospital Transfer Center and physician’s offices. Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, knowledge and understanding of patient care. Works closely with Nursing Leadership and communicate the Medical Center’s occupancy status. Takes initiative to anticipate problems, thinks creatively, generates reports, and assumes other duties as assigned.
Access Care Bed Management Coordinator is a key member of the Patient Access Services team, responsible for inpatient throughput ensuring that all patients are assigned to the appropriate level of care. Works closely with clinical staff on various units, providers and Administrators in a multi-disciplinary centralized throughput model. Responsible for Pre-Registrations, Registration, and Pre-Arrivals ensuring the accuracy of information. Responsible for ensuring inter and intra-facility transfers are registered timely and appropriately in accordance to prescribed workflows. Responsible for completing inpatient registration into the EPIC system, obtaining patient demographic and insurance information as well as verify eligibility and securing regulatory documents/signatures.

Education/Experience
Minimum Required
+ High School Diploma or equivalent, with two (2)+ years’ experience working in the healthcare industry, such as inpatient admission services, hospital registration or related area within bed management.
Preferred:
+ Associates Degree in lieu of degree five years of demonstrated excellence working in patient access bed management, or facility-based healthcare setting.
License/Certification
Preferred:
+ Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA)
