Job Title: Buyer

Job Description

The Buyer will be an integral part of the Customer Service Division, specifically handling purchasing of Underbody/Chassis Components. This role requires a strong communicator who is comfortable with conflict and possesses good business acumen. The individual must be self-motivated and solution-oriented, capable of gathering data to address issues effectively.

Responsibilities

+ Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.

+ Support the purchasing function and communicate any supply problems impacting business operations.

+ Act as an interface between suppliers and relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects.

+ Monitor and advise on issues presenting risk or opportunity to the organization.

+ Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers.

+ Provide cost analysis and review cost reduction activities.

+ Collaborate with procurement to review opportunities for continuous improvement.

+ Negotiate contracts to improve prices and terms with suppliers.

+ Build and maintain supplier relationships and ensure effective communication.

+ Conduct research for new components and suppliers.

+ Compile data relating to supplier performance for evaluation.

+ Resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues with suppliers.

+ Address supplier shortages and past-due situations.

+ Update and maintain commodity strategies.

+ Develop cost estimates for savings negotiations and mitigate supplier uplift requests.

+ Produce weekly reports and status updates on assignments and projects.

+ Perform market tests, analyze responses, and award sourcing of parts.

+ Review open vehicles off road (VOR) and backorders weekly and expedite parts delivery.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of purchasing/buyer experience.

+ Automotive purchasing experience.

+ Intermediate Excel skills (testing required).

+ Motivated, self-starter, solution-oriented individual.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ SAP experience.

+ Takes initiative, quick learner.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
