Astronics- PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements. PECO enjoys a longstanding relationship with many aerospace customers, including The Boeing Company, for which it provides a variety of products across its line of commercial airliners.

We are seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to our team. This position prepares and verifies items for outgoing domestic and international shipments, and receives inbound material through verification process. Also records information into our ERP system (Syteline). Knowledge of international shipping and associated requirements is crucial, as is knowledge of ITAR processes. Haz Mat training will be provided.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen, and enters necessary codes.

+ Prepares pre-established reports, invoices and shipping documents.

+ Compares identifying information, counts, weighs, or measure items of inbound and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

+ Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.

+ Receives inbound material from various carriers. Verifies shipment count, and pack slips for material accuracy, records the receipt into the system. Works with the quality team for priority inspections. Picks up inspected items and put to shelf using FIFO method.

+ You must be Haz Mat trained in this position-we will provide the training. Consistently and accurately complies with DOT and Haz Mat regulations. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.

+ Prepares outbound shipment according to the customer routing instructions applying ASN labels and following labeling requirements.

+ Knowledge of UPS, FED Ex, USPS and LTL process required to posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.

+ Operates forklifts and hand trucks to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

+ Confers with customers, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.

+ Attends Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly.

+ Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses equipment and materials properly.

+ Reports consistently to work and on time. Able to work an eight-hour shift and any overtime as necessary.

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

+ Previous experience and/or training in shipping and receiving.

+ Knowledge of international shipping.

+ Haz mat certification a plus.

+ Forklift operation experience with a stand-up is a plus.

+ ERP experience

+ RF scanner/handheld experience is a plus.

+ Good computer and math skills.

+ Customer Service focused, with excellent communication skills.

+ Ability to obtain a Forklift license.
