Job Description
We are seeking a Distribution System Operator to join our Control Center team in Macon. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the distribution network to ensure uninterrupted power supply to customers. You will be responsible for monitoring, operating, controlling, and maintaining the integrity of the electrical distribution system, utilizing advanced systems and applications within a Smart Grid control center environment.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor and control the electrical distribution system to ensure reliable power supply.
+ Operate within a Smart Grid control center, using integrated OT, IT, and support systems.
+ Perform real-time monitoring, analysis, and control of network conditions.
+ Respond quickly to situations and ensure safe and efficient power delivery.
+ Participate in structured training classes and on-the-job training.
+ Communicate effectively with clients and work collaboratively in a team setting.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in electrical, dispatch, engineering support, or related fields.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of control room operations.
+ Familiarity with SCADA, power systems, and utility design and construction.
+ Good customer service experience and a solid work history.
+ Technical back ground, preferably in electrical technology or electronic engineering.
+ Ability to handle high-stress situations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Education from a technical school, associate degree, or bachelor's degree.
+ Military experience is a plus.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
+ Capability to analyze and execute tasks effectively.
+ Computer proficiency and ability to work with multiple computer screens.
Work Environment
The role is based in Macon, within a dedicated work area equipped with five computer screens. Initial training involves working 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday. Post-training, work follows a rotating shift schedule, including night shifts and weekend shifts. The environment is fast-paced, with higher volumes expected during storms. Shift work includes 12-hour shifts, with premium pay for night shifts once on permanent terms. Candidates are expected to adhere to a strict no-phone policy during work hours, with allowances made for emergencies.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
