    Job Title: Safety Specialist

    Job Description

    The Safety Specialist will provide support for plant-wide and specific production areas to enhance safety culture and regulatory compliance. The role involves implementing programs and projects for continuous improvement, establishing strong team member relations, and providing development support through coaching and mentoring. The specialist will work closely with advisors and influence team member behavior relating to safety priorities.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide leadership and support for plant-wide safety and shop safety programs.

    + Engage with shops to maintain OSHA compliance.

    + Execute the safety management system.

    + Lead and support incident investigations.

    + Identify and prioritize risks related to safety issues and develop action plans to mitigate risks.

    + Coordinate with Early Intervention Specialists on process improvements.

    + Influence team member behavior through Safety Task Force groups and projects.

    + Implement shop and plant projects to improve safety systems and culture.

    + Track, monitor, and share safety trend and data analysis.

    + Audit processes related to assigned safety compliance programs.

    + Maintain records and incident management system software for OSHA compliance.

    + Administer plant-wide PPE program and third-party vendor contract.

    + Lead safety promotion activities, including annual Safety Month.

    + Develop and deliver safety training materials and programs.

    + Coordinate annual safety training schedule.

    + Generate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking for reports.

    + Complete annual compliance and corporate reporting requirements.

    + Support Safety Management System development and implementation.

    + Be available for work outside normal schedule, including weekends, holidays, and travel.

    Essential Skills

    + OSHA compliance knowledge.

    + OSHA 30 certification.

    + Ergonomics expertise.

    + Safety software systems proficiency.

    + Project management capabilities.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or GED required.

    + Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA Safety requirements.

    + Experience with audits, safety policy creation, training, investigation, and risk assessment.

    + Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred.

    + Certification in specific area of expertise (CSP, PE, etc.).

    + Experience in safety promotion and culture.

    + Lean manufacturing principles familiarity.

    + Manufacturing and/or occupational safety experience.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
