Job Title: Survey TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a Survey Technician who possesses a thorough understanding of safety requirements and traffic control measures for surveying and construction operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the care, cleaning, and use of various surveying tools and equipment, including field radios. Additionally, they will manage daily operations, checks, and basic field adjustments on transits, total stations, electronic stations, data collectors, levels, compasses, tribrachs, and tripods.

Responsibilities

+ Perform basic surveys such as leveling, traversing, triangulation, trilateration, public land surveys, metes and bounds surveys, construction surveys, and photo control surveys.

+ Coordinate fieldwork for various standard surveys under the supervision of a Party Chief.

+ Maintain neat and orderly field notes for standard surveying operations including leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile, and cross-section surveys.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 6 months experience using robotic total stations and data collectors.

+ Strong attendance and punctuality on job sites.

+ Experience with as-built, transportation, and site surveys for wetlands and sitework.

+ Proficiency in GPS, topographic surveys, and data collection.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Robotic Total Station setup.

+ Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions.

+ Ability to work well in a team environment.

+ Reliability as an employee.

Work Environment

This position is within a 40-person company, where a family-oriented atmosphere is fostered. The surveying group includes 3 CAD drafters and 13 surveyors, and is rapidly growing. The role requires travel throughout the state and working in outdoor conditions. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility. Employees are provided with a company car for travel or can opt for mileage reimbursement. Benefits include one week of PTO, paid holidays, and support for obtaining a surveying license, including reimbursement for classes, testing fees, and annual renewal.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
