    The Brooklyn Center Community Schools (BCCS) District is seeking a reliable and safety-minded Building Supervisor to support the Community Education Department during facility rentals. This individual will oversee access to the building, maintain a welcoming and secure environment, and serve as the primary on-site contact for renters and guests.

    Department:Community Education

     

    Reports To:Community Education Coordinator

     

    Status:Part-Time, Hourly

     

    Pay Rate:$15/hour

     

    Hours:Evenings and weekends as scheduled (based on facility rentals)

    Facility Access & Monitoring:

    + Open and secure designated areas of the building before and after rental events.

    + ?Monitor door access points to ensure authorized entry only.

    + Maintain visibility and oversight of all rented spaces to ensure appropriate use.

    Safety & Security:

    + Enforce district safety protocols and report incidents or concerns promptly.

    + Ensure emergency exits and pathways remain unobstructed.

    + Be prepared to respond appropriately in the event of a safety, security, or medical issue.

    Additional Details:

    + Perform related duties as required by supervisors or other administrators.

    + Evening and weekend availability is essential.

    + Training will be provided regarding building operations and emergency procedures.

    Safety Requirements

    + Follow all applicable safety training, rules, procedures and regulations governing building security and safety.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Knowledge of best practices in building security and safety.

    + Knowledge of security and alarm systems, electronic surveillance, and related safety and security devices.

    + Ability to problem solve and resolve work related safety and security issues.

    + Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, local law enforcement officials and others contacted in the course of work.

    Travel:

    Occasional travel may be required.

    Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    + Previous experience in customer service, building security, or facility supervision preferred.

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    + Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

    + Must pass a background check and complete district training protocols.
