    Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator Consultant

    + Hybrid:

    + 3 days on-site: Maryland Judiciary Information Systems, 189 Harry S. Truman Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21401

    + 2 days remote: From a suitable off-site location within the United States.

     

    REQUIRED ; US Citizen

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Education:

    + Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (as determined by AOC)

    + Note: Degrees such as Agricultural & Resource Economics or MBA are not considered related.

    + Certification:

    + Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

    + Certification must be issued by Red Hat

    + Current or non-current certification accepted with valid certification ID

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + 10+ years as a Red Hat System Administrator

    + 10+ years administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems

    + 15+ years in the IT field

    Scope of Work & Responsibilities:

    + Install, configure, and maintain RHEL servers in development, test, and production

    + Perform upgrades, patching, and security hardening

    + Monitor system performance and resolve issues

    + Automate tasks using Ansible, Bash, or Python

    + Configure and manage Red Hat Satellite, IdM, and other tools

    + Coordinate with security teams for vulnerability mitigation

    + Manage storage, backup, and disaster recovery

    + Guide application teams on Linux-based deployments

    + Maintain system documentation

    + Participate in on-call and incident resolution

    + Configure NFS, mount points, and Cron jobs

    Skills & Experience (Preferred):

    + Experience with:

    + Complex networked systems

    + Administering systems such as:

    + Oracle WebLogic Servers

    + Oracle Database Servers

    + Progress 4GL/OpenEdge

    + Apache Web Servers

    + vSphere hosted RHEL Servers

    + Rubrik backup systems

    + Oracle DB backups

    + PeopleSoft, Mobius, Elastic Search, Oracle OBI, CVS

    + Red Hat performance tuning, load balancing, DR

    + 24/7 availability environments

    + Application development and Red Hat support

    + Electronic Imaging Support

    + Abilities:

    + Team collaboration, leadership, effective communication

    + Troubleshooting OS, database, and application issues

    + Interfacing with users and helpdesk

    + Backup/recovery and networking methodologies

    + Knowledge of:

     

    Red Hat administration, configuration, tuning
