Pharmacist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled pharmacist who is committed to providing excellent pharmaceutical care in a supportive environment. This role involves reviewing prescriptions, compounding medications, directing pharmacy staff, and dispensing medications while advising nursing staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

+ Review prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.

+ Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, including weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.

+ Direct pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and changing prescription orders.

+ Ensure the accuracy of prescription orders intake and efficiently fulfill orders.

+ Dispense medications and provide support and counseling to nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications.

+ Advise physicians about medication therapy.

Essential Skills

+ Pharmacy expertise with a focus on prior authorization and compounding.

+ PharmD degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.

+ Valid Pharmacy License in the State of Kansas.

+ Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.

+ Effective oral and written communication abilities.

+ Leadership skills to coordinate associates and direct job functions.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Windows-based software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.

+ Long-term or closed-door pharmacy experience preferred.

+ Experience in retail pharmacy is advantageous.

+ Ability to stand for the entire work period.

Work Environment

This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 7am to 3:30pm, with optional overtime available on weekends. The role is designed to transition from a 6-month contract to a permanent position, with a yearly performance-based bonus of 15%.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
