    Job Title: Machinist

    Job Description

    This position will be responsible for helping to produce high-quality manufactured products used all over the world. The successful candidate will set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, CNC machines, and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform quality inspections on products.

    + Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

    + Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

    + Operate machines to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.

    + Verify conformance of finished workpieces using measuring and inspection tools.

    + Set up and operate machines to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

    + Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with CNC machines, blueprints, lathe, mill, axis operations, and quality inspection.

    + Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.

    + Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities.

    + Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

    + Strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills.

    + Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    + Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Possess a 2-year associate degree in either a tool and die or machining degree.

    + Prior machining experience.

    Work Environment

     

    The position offers a choice between 1st shift hours from Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 2:30pm, or 2nd shift hours from Monday to Thursday, 2:30pm - 1:00am. The dress code includes steel-toed shoes, jeans, and a shirt.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winona, Minnesota.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
