    Job Title: Equipment Mechanic

    Job Description

    The Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on construction equipment, including tasks such as changing oil, changing filters, checking fluid levels, greasing parts, troubleshooting, and making corrective mechanical and electrical repairs. The role requires the ability to make hydraulic repairs, perform inspections on equipment, change cylinders, pull and replace parts, and work with pneumatic tools. The mechanic will work on rental fleet equipment as well as construction company-owned equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct preventative maintenance on construction equipment.

    + Change oil, filters, and check fluid levels.

    + Grease parts and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.

    + Make hydraulic repairs and perform equipment inspections.

    + Change cylinders, pull and replace parts.

    + Utilize pneumatic tools for various tasks.

    + Maintain and repair both rental fleet and company-owned equipment.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of heavy equipment mechanic experience.

    + Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.

    + Strong understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

    + Skilled in mechanical repair and hydraulics.

    + Experience with fleet maintenance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Mechanical aptitude.

    + Clean DMV record.

    Work Environment

     

    The Equipment Mechanic will work in both a shop setting and in the field, maintaining and repairing construction equipment. The role involves hands-on work with various tools and equipment, requiring both technical and physical capabilities.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
