    Job Title: Maintenance Technician

    Job Description

    As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in organizing and facilitating the maintenance of production and facility equipment. Your expertise in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting will be essential for identifying and resolving issues efficiently. You will be responsible for troubleshooting programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics. The role requires using electrical test equipment for repair and troubleshooting, as well as repairing and rebuilding electrical and mechanical components. You will also be involved in the installation, modification, and fabrication of equipment and systems to meet production needs and schedules. The position demands versatility and a willingness to tackle tasks throughout the facility, including everything from toilets to forklifts and other machinery/appliances.

    Responsibilities

    + Organize and facilitate maintenance of production and facility equipment.

    + Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

    + Repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical components.

    + Use electrical test equipment for repair and troubleshooting.

    + Install, modify, and fabricate equipment and systems.

    + Conduct preventative maintenance and corrective repairs.

    + Work on conveyors, hydraulics, motors, pumps, starters, and other machinery.

    + Maintain flexibility to work on various tasks throughout the facility.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

    + Experience with conveyors, hydraulics, motors, pumps, and starters.

    + Strong mechanical skills.

    + Ownership of personal tools.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Heavy PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.

    + Experience with VFD and PLC troubleshooting and repair.

    + Capability to diagnose and repair PLCs.

    + Plumbing and automation knowledge.

    + Experience with robotic systems.

    + Facilities maintenance expertise.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a non-climate-controlled plant that processes and bends metal and coil coatings. The facility can get very hot in the summer due to machinery and weather conditions. The maintenance team comprises ten people, with six new members, working closely with a larger team of fifty onsite. The shift is from 7am to 4pm, with no overtime during the initial training weeks. Expect at least ten hours of overtime per week once direct employment begins. Flexibility in working hours is required as they may increase. The dress code includes steel toes, jeans, a work shirt, and a company uniform once direct employment is secured. The facility is older, requiring problem-solving abilities to repair and maintain equipment.

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

    Job Summary:

    Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

    • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

    • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.

    • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

    • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

    • Fabricates repair parts by using welding equipment.

    • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

    • Blue print reading

    • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

    • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.

    • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    • Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.

    • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.

    • Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.

    • Work with furnaces, hydro testing and CNC machines

    Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:

    Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

     

    Years of Experience: 3 years of experience in industrial or construction as a position of facility maintenance; 3 - 5 years of Experience

    Must have Millwright experience. Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills. Be able to manage with limited supervision. Must have good oral/written communication skills in order to effectively interact with customers, vendors, and other associates. Must be customer service oriented and team-oriented. Must have good organizational skills. Must understand and interpret data presented in statistical or numerical form and be able to use if effectively in assessing and coordinating the merchandise and operational aspects of the industrial operations. Must be detail oriented and handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. Must be able to climb up and down ladders, reach, bend, twist, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs., handle large odd shaped items, and stock items in overhead areas.
