Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

A dynamic manufacturing company specializing in premium labels is seeking a diligent general production helper/assistant for their rewinding department. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating closely with the team to ensure efficient production processes.

Responsibilities

+ Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.

+ Attain and maintain all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes.

+ Assist in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities.

+ Assist in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover.

+ Clean ink pans and ancillary equipment.

+ Strip plates from cylinders.

+ Locate dies to and from press.

+ Work with press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light.

+ Comply with quality assurance specifications of the customer.

+ Complete quality assurance sheet and associated documentation.

+ Ensure cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace.

+ Work overtime when needed and as assigned.

+ Perform related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ Must be bilingual in Spanish.

+ At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

+ Ability to communicate and interact well with others, both verbally and in written form.

+ Ability to read and understand a job ticket.

+ Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements.

+ Ability to achieve correctable vision to 20/20.

+ Ability to differentiate colors.

+ Ability to input data in the computer.

+ Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency.

+ Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Print shop experience is helpful but not required.

+ Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods.

+ Physical ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.

+ Specific vision requirements including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

+ Assertive and solution-focused.

+ Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

Work in a vibrant manufacturing site with over 150 employees where loud machinery is common. Safety is paramount, requiring hair nets, beard nets, safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, back safety belts, and a no jewelry policy. Shift options include swing shifts from 1PM to 9:30PM, and night shifts from 9PM to 5:30AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fullerton, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.65 - $20.65/hr.
