• **Location:** Pella, Iowa

• **Job Type:** Contract to Hire | Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 7 AM - 5 PM

We are seeking skilled and mechanically inclined individuals to join our team as HVAC technicians or sheet metal helpers. This is a perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside licensed journeyman technicians on commercial construction projects, including hospitals, schools, offices, restaurants, hotels, and more.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

• **Assist journeyman technicians** with delivery, installation, and troubleshooting of heating and cooling equipment.

• **Work on commercial HVAC** and perform installations as part of a team.

• **Comfortably bend, crouch, kneel, and lift 100+ lbs** as needed with a teammate.

• **Verify possession of basic hand tools** , including tape measurers, screwdrivers, channel locks, pliers, and power drills.

• **Ensure timely arrival to job sites daily** , with or without a driver’s license.

Pay Range:

• **HVAC Technician or Sheet Metal** **Technician** – **$18 - $26/hour** _(commercial experience preferred but open to residential; higher pay available based on experience)_

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

•️ **6 months to 1 year of HVAC, sheet metal, plumbing, or mechanical/construction aptitude** .

•️ **Ability to use an impact driver and basic hand tools** .

•️ **Familiarity with heating and cooling installation** (residential or commercial) or mechanical experience.

•️ **Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills** .

•️ **Experience with compressors, sheet metal, refrigeration, control systems, preventive maintenance, and air conditioning** .

•️ **Valid driver’s license is strongly preferred** , but candidates without one will be considered.

Work Environment & Schedule:

• **Dress Code:** Jeans, work boots, and a work-appropriate tee shirt.

• **No PPE required** .

• **Must have own basic tool set** , including:

+ Wire strippers, lighted level, screwdrivers (flat & Phillips)

+ 8 oz hammer, drywall saw, ¼ malco bit, 4’’ bit adapter for impact drill

+ Headlamp or flashlight, channel locks

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.
