1st Shift Shop Help

Job Description

As a Shop Helper, you will be responsible for building wood shipping skids for equipment, utilizing hand, power, and specialty tools, and operating a forklift on a daily basis. Your role will also include assisting with general maintenance around the shop, tagging equipment for shipping and receiving, and potentially driving a truck and trailer between facilities.

Responsibilities

+ Build wood shipping skids for company equipment.

+ Operate hand, power, and specialty tools such as saws and drills.

+ Drive a forklift daily for various work needs.

+ Assist with taking out garbage every morning using a forklift.

+ Help with maintenance tasks on the building or grounds.

+ In the future, drive a truck and trailer to transport equipment between buildings.

+ Tag equipment for shipping and receiving.

+ Perform various other shop help duties as needed.

Essential Skills

+ **Forklift experience of 3+ years** .

+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools.

+ Clean driving record, capable of being insured.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in pallet building.

+ Ability to read a tape measure.

Work Environment

Work in a custom fabrication setting focused on building conveyor lines and systems for industries such as bottling, food, and paper. This is a direct hire position offering a competitive hourly wage, first shift hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility. Saturdays are typically volunteer workdays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $41600.00/yr.
