    Minimum qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

    + 15 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.

    + 3 years of experience managing and building teams.

    + Experience defining system or process requirements, building, integrating, or delivering layer 1, layer 2 or layer 3 network systems.

    + Experience with planning and designing networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).

    Preferred qualifications:

    + Experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.

    + Knowledge of internal forecasting and planning tools such as WAND, Alpaca, Alpythia, MCP, DENS etc.

    + Understanding of the technical and process challenges associated with network planning.

    Google's network provides services to millions of Internet users around the world. Our metros are on the edge of our network where Google connects to its users. The Network Team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. Our team owns the full life cycle of all space, power, and network assets in all of Google’s data centers and metro points of presence globally. From the foundation, we are involved from site acquisition to construction and are accountable for what space and power is delivered. We're involved in every facet of network delivery from architecture and design to installation, configuration, activation, and commissioning.

     

    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     + Document architectural policy and standards across different layers of the Open Source Initiative (OSI) stack.

    + Develop Hardware lifecycle policy, i.e. consumption plans for existing deployed fleet and inventory in order to minimize Excess and Obsolescence (E&O).

    + Develop methodologies to machine readable policies and integrate across the Carrier-grade NAT (CGN) stack.

    + Provide business requirements to the technology and software development counterparts.

    + Foster team empowerment, well-being, and development through coaching, feedback, and career conversations.
